Southern Pacific University awards a letter grade for each module for which grade points are earned based on the four -point scale (A=4.0, B=3.0, C=2.0, D=1.0, F=0). The scaling for these grades is as follows

 

A

(Excellent) 90 thru 100

B

(Above Average) 85 thru 89

C

(Average) 76 thru 84

D

(Below Average) 70 thru 75

F

(Fail) Below 70

PR

(Progress) This grade is used to indicate that a thesis or dissertation is in progress but not complete.

W

(Withdrawal) A W grade is used for approved administrative withdrawals.
 

Grade-Point Average

Student’s academic standing is referred to in terms of grade-point average calculated by dividing the total number of grade points earned at the University by the total number of hours attempted. Courses given a grade of PR or W are excluded in the grade-point average calculation.Grades earned in courses taken at other institutions are not included in calculation of the grade-point average for the University.

Graduation Requirement

In order for students to be conferred their academic qualification, all students are required to demonstrate their ability to satisfy the University’s academic expectations;

  • A successful completion of all course work and examinations for each module.
  • Completion of specified semester hours.
  • Full payment of tuition fees.
