Course Objective
The purpose of this course is to promote a basic understanding of the principles of management,  the structure and mechanics involved in management, and the problems and solutions that each and every manger should know to be effective and efficient in today's global environment.

• To develop a understanding of management   dynamics.
• To understand the inherit problems faced by managers and organizations in achieving common goals.
• To develop personal business skills in dealing with all aspects of business and organizational operations.

Course Description
Principles of Management deals with management as a discipline and a process. Topics discussed include the evolution and scope of management, decision-making, planning and strategy, organizing and staffing, leading and control, and of course change! The importance of management in the global environment and ethical considerations of management decisions are also discussed. The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the theoretical and practical approaches used to study and understand modern management principles.

Course Requirement
There will be 7 multiple-choice exams. The objective is not to test your memorization skills but your ability to readily assimilate principles of management and then apply the data and concepts to everyday problems and situations.

There will be one (1) assignment, which will explore a principle of management topic that has been covered in the course. Details on the assignment are contained. 

Your assignment will deal with a specific aspect of principles of management. This paper will be 7-15 pages in length, typed, double spaced

Multiple-choice exams are valued at 70% of final grade; assignment is 30% of final grade.
